Louis Moreau, AGNORA’s Senior Techincal Specialist will be participating in the following Facades+ workshop:
Facades+ April 24 + 25 2014 – An ASTM Structural Glass Standard: The Need, the Philosophy and the Direction
At this year’s Facades+ workshop, participants will learn how architectural glass is a fundamentally different building material than that of its wood, masonry and steel ancestors. Primary amongst these differences is our acceptance of its predisposition to break — a price to pay for transparency. As a result, architectural glass has been largely limited to window applications, with few spectacular exceptions. This workshop will identify and examine:
- The unique design considerations of architectural glass
- Why the material has historically evaded structural standardization
- What is happening at the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) to facilitate the structural glass designs of tomorrow?
Facades+ Panel
- Richard Green, Front Inc.Panel
- Michael Ludvik, M.Ludvik Engineering
- Louis Moreau, AGNORA
- Keith Boswell, SOM
- Alfonso Lopez, Sentech Architectural Systems
