The Bow
The Bow uses over 900,000 square feet of glass!
Background
Its signature design, as provided by Lord Norman Foster’s internationally renowned architectural practice, Foster + Partners, firmly situates EnCana and Calgary, Alberta at the forefront of the global business arena that defines 21st century commerce. Matthews Development (Alberta) is developing this landmark 58-story tower, the Bow, which is the first significant mixed-use development east of Centre Street in downtown Calgary, a vibrant city of more than one million people.
AGNORA is supplying a number of critical architectural glass components throughout the tower. Much of the main floor exterior insulated glass is being made by AGNORA. The architects needed extra large, optically correct and structurally solid insulated glass throughout.
Canopy glass with a unique shape and complex CNC machined glass was delivered with exact precision to fit over all of the revolving doors. In addition, throughout the building AGNORA has been contracted to supply roller-coated back-painted glass for bathrooms, vestibules and elevator lobbies in all 58 floors. The glass requirements dictated exacting precision for wall cladding. Low iron glass was painted in a variety of colors for a clean contemporary look.
