We are all familiar with performance coatings to maximize solar and thermal efficiency, but new coatings continue to become available and influence the market. Find out how to optimize storefronts with coatings and garner a high-end look.
COATINGS IN RETAIL
ANTI REFLECTIVE GLASS
Retail storefronts, display cases and exhibits require pure, unobstructed visual engagement to maximize the impact to shoppers. Using Guardian Glass’ Clarity reduces the reflection to less than 1%. This means that your customers will see inside your store instead of looking at themselves. Storefronts using antireflective coatings have a light transmission greater than 98% Vs 90% for uncoated low iron. A study showed that 18% more people stopped in front of an antireflective coated storefront. *
The goal of any high-end retailer should be the best-in-class customer experience. Elevate an elegant environment by matching the perfectly suited glass.
BIRD FRIENDLY ARCHITECTURAL GLASS
Bird-friendly glass is steadily gaining traction as major municipalities continue to enact bird-friendly construction mandates. With new standards throughout New York, Chicago and Toronto, the need to understand bird-friendly options at the retail level is crucial.
There are three main types of bird-friendly glass:
CERAMIC PRINTED FRIT
Ceramic printed frit is the process of using high quality, digital ceramic printer(s) to apply marks to the glass surface. The marks themselves can be on either first or second surface of an IGU, and will last a lifetime. AGNORA’s in-house Dip-Tech ceramic printer allows for the creation of endless options.
UV COATING
Provided by the manufacturer, such as Guardian Glass Bird1st (accredited by the American Bird Conservancy), this type of glass provides a pattern only visible to birds, and remains invisible to the human eye.
ACID ETCH
Provided by the manufacturer, such as Walker’s AviProtek this type of glass provides a visible pattern in a variety of sizes and dimensions.
